A Guide To Choosing Kitchen Appliances - Part 2

Like most folks out there, when it comes to buying a new appliance for their kitchen, they want to get the very best they can for their money. Choosing the right washing machine, dryer and dishwasher will not only make sure that all of your laundry and dish washing needs are met, but this will also ensure that you're getting the very most out of your new appliance.

A Quick Guide to Washing Machines

The first thing you need to think about, is how much washing you'll be doing. This will dictate the drum size you need. Smaller and more compact machines won't be hold as much clothing, and may result in you having to use it more frequently. This will increase on your energy costs, and won't make your chosen machine as cost or energy effective. It's often a better idea to choose a bigger drum, as you won't have to use it as frequently.

It's always best to go with a machine that has a wide variety of settings and washing options. Try to choose a machine that offers some, if not all of the following:

- Multiple temperature settings
- Adjustable wash times
- Material programs which allow you to wash wool, cotton, synthetics etc.
- Quick wash, half load and economy settings

Washer Dryer or separate units?

For most folks, this choice is either dictated by their budget, or the amount of free space they have at home in their kitchen or utility area. One of the very best things about buying a washer dryer is that they only take up half the space. This will leave you plenty more room in your kitchen for either further storage or perhaps an alternative handy appliance like a dishwasher.

Just like the separate washer and dryers they work in exactly the same way as the separate units, but the same machine will take care of both the washing an drying. This means you don't have to drag  your heavy wet washing out into the dryer, you simply set the machine, and leave it until your clothes have been washed and fully dried. Easy!

When it comes to your washer dryer, you need to think about not only where it's going to go in your kitchen, but how much washing you'll be doing. The size of your drum will dictate how much you can fit into your appliance, so be sure to check this out first. Next, think about where your machine is going. It'll need to plumbed in, and depending on the dryer type, you may need to empty the water regularly, or even feed a hose outside to get rid of the excess heat. Be sure you take both into considering before purchasing your appliance.

A Quick Guide to Dishwashers

Washing dishes is the least favourite chore for many, and thank god those handy dishwasher are here to save us from pruned fingers and not enough draining board space. But, choosing the perfect dishwasher isn't as straightforward as it may seem. There are plenty of things that you need to think about before you head on-line and grab yourself a brand new dishwasher. Start by asking yourself, how much space do I have? How many dishes do I use? And lastly where is my new dishwasher going to go?

For many, kitchen space is an issue, and thankfully those slimline and table top dishwashers are ready to slip into the smallest of spaces. But if you're lucky to have a little more space to play with, then your dishwasher can simply slip under your counter with little fuss or effort. For larger families or those who cook, a full sized is the best option. Whilst the slimline and table top models are great space savers, they can't fit very much in and will probably be too small for most families.
