Top 3 Tips on Planning Your Dream Kitchen

KitchenYour kitchen is often the heart of a household, and the place where the whole family congregate most of the time. So, getting the very best out of your kitchen is important. It doesn't matter how much money you have to spend, or the amount of space you have to work with, making some savvy  decisions will help you to achieve the kitchen you've always dreamed of in no time at all. Read on to find out more...

Top tip 1) Making a plan

It doesn't matter if you're staring from scratch or your simply making a few changes to your existing kitchen, the first thing you need to do is create a plan. Space is often an issue when it comes to kitchen planning. It may seem at first like fitting in all those essential appliances is impossible, but taking some measurements, and using your space wisely will create more space than you could image, allowing you to fit in everything you need to create the perfect kitchen.

Top tip 2) Choosing your appliances

a) Ovens - The first consideration when it comes to any appliance is space. There are a wide variety of ovens on the market, but fitting them into an existing space can be quite difficult. You'll find everything from single double, to separate hob style ovens out there and choosing the right one can seem difficult. The easiest way to work out which ones is best suited to you and your kitchen is to work out what you'll be using it for. If you cook large meals, and require extra cooking space, a double oven may work well. But for couples or those with smaller families, a smaller oven may be all that's needed.

b) Washers and dryers - If you have the space in your kitchen, then you may be able to fit in both a washing machine and dryer, but if space is an issue, you may want to think about a combined washer dryer. These are particularly space saving, and will often cost at lot less than the two machines combine. If instead you do want to go for separate machines, you need to think about the amount of washing a drying you'll be doing, as this will affect the drum size your require. The larger the drums, the larger the machines, so take this into consideration before you buy.

c) Dishwasher - Once again, it's all about space saving, and when it comes to dishwashers, and you'll find plenty of options to choose from. Slim line dishwashers are particularly popular if space is limited, as well as counter top dishwashers too. These smaller models are perfect if you've run out of under the counter space, and simply sit on top instead.

d) Fridges and freezers - Choosing a combined fridge and freezer is the perfect way to save space, whilst ensuring that you have enough room to store all of these household chilled and frozen goods. A fridge freezer will often be cheaper than the separate fridge and freezer units, and you don't have to worry about matching the two colours or designs in your kitchen space.

Top tip 3) Integration

Many of us take pride in our homes, and want them to look as good as possible, and this is no different when it comes to the kitchen. Many modern kitchens integrate their appliances, to create a more cohesive feel. If you want your kitchen to match, you may want to think about integrating your new appliances into your kitchen, and covering them with cupboard doors. This is a popular look, which also allows buyers to choose mismatched appliances, as this won't spoil the overall look of their kitchen.
