Which LG Plasma TV is Best For You?

There are many options when you choose to go with an LG plasma screen TV. Each one will be a bit unique and offer you varying dimensions and features. So when it comes to purchasing, what should you know in order to pick the best one for you?

In some of the newer LG models you can find everything from excellent entry level ones that will give you quality and a lower price tag to the most enhanced and high end makes that will still have a competitive price. The LG PQ30 series is a great example of standard plasma TV's that will provide you with a resolution of 720p and contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1.

This series does come with an Auto Volume Leveler II which will ensure that your sound will not be interrupted by fluctuations and gives you an even tone that won't be left having be adjusted between quieter and louder scenes.  This is a great choice for those who may be purchasing their first plasma or are looking to not spend quite as much in their home entertainment system. These more basic sets will be without the THX, NetCast, DivX HD support, and USB playback as some of the fancier models have. They will however be able to load JPEG and MP3's from their USB port.

A step up from the PQ30 series is the LG PS60 series that boats a greater resolution with one that is 1080p. It will have the same contrast ratio but comes with several additional features that offer you quite a bit more versatility from your TV. They have enhanced colour accuracy which means that the images are much more vibrant and life like and they are THX certified, have NetCast support, as well as 24p cinema mode. Further you can use the USB port to upload JPEGs and MP3s and their featured frameless design is a draw. In terms of the quality of the picture they are equal to the higher end PS80 series and will cost you less.

The LG PS80 series is going to come with even more fun features in your TV and have superb picture quality. From either the 60 or 50 inch sizes you will get the 1080p resolution count and will be provided vivid colour quality that will not need to be calibrated once you have set it up. Even better is the THX Media Director features that will adjust the tints and tones for you automatically depending on what is playing on the screen. This comes along with obviously being THX certified as well as NetCast support and 24p cinema mode. What makes them even better than any of the other series is that they are able to stream NetFlix, which no other brand plasma TV currently on the market can say.

There is the HDD hard disk drive that holds up to 250GB and dual tuners that let you record one program and watch another and then flip back and forth. The USB port uploads not only JPEGs and MP3s but also DivX HD live streaming so you can get to Yahoo widgets. This plasma is WiFi and Bluetooth capable making it perhaps the most functional plasma TV today.

In considering just what kind of plasma screen TV you want to buy you need to think about what features are most important to you and how you will be spending most of your time on the TV. As you gain more added bonuses the prices will go up as well and you need to weigh that with just how important being able to diversify your home entertainment theatre is to you.
